San Pacho alias San Francisco

Yerba Buena.
A city of western California on a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, an inlet of the Pacific. A Spanish presidio and mission were founded here in 1776. The first settlement was known as Yerba Buena, a Mexican city. The name was changed to San Francisco after control of the town passed to the United States in 1846, two days after California was lost by Mexico during the Mexican-American war. Discovery of gold nearby in 1848 changed the city from a small community into a thriving boom town known for its lawlessness and bawdy amusements. The city was all but destroyed by a devastating earthquake and fire on April 18, 1906. Population: 800,000. making it the second most dense city in the United States; at least four million people live in the metropolitan area. (known as bay area).

Bye to the King, Michael Joseph Jackson.

Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009), dubbed the "King of Pop", was an American recording artist, widely regarded as one of the greatest entertainers of modern times. With his trademark black fedora and single, sequinned glove, his unique contributions to music and dance, along with a highly publicized personal life, made him a central part of popular culture around the world for four decades.

One of only a few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his achievements included multiple Guinness World Records—including the "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time"—13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles, and the sale of over 750 million records. He was also a notable philanthropist, donating millions of dollars to the 39 charities he supported, and raising more through his own Heal the World Foundation.

The seventh child of the Jackson family, he made his debut in 1968 as a member of The Jackson 5, beginning a solo career in 1971. His 1982 album Thriller remains the best-selling album of all time, with four others—Off the Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991), and HIStory (1995)—among the best selling. He popularized several physically complicated dance moves, such as the robot and the moonwalk, now iconic. He is widely credited with having transformed the music video from a promotional tool into an art form, with videos such as Thriller, "Beat It" and "Billie Jean" making him the first African American to amass a strong crossover following on MTV, and others, such as "Black or White" and "Scream", ensuring his popularity well into the 1990s.

Jackson's personal life generated significant controversy. His changing appearance was noticed from the early 1980s, his skin appearing paler and his facial features becoming almost androgynous. He was accused in 1993 of child sexual abuse, and though no charges were brought, his health suffered when he started using painkillers to cope with the stress. He married twice, first in 1994 and again in 1996, and brought up three children, one of them with a surrogate mother, actions that triggered more speculation about his life. In 2005, he was tried and acquitted of different child molestation allegations, which provoked a further decline in his health. Jackson died at the age of 50 on June 25, 2009, in Los Angeles, after suffering a cardiac arrest. His memorial service was broadcast live around the world, and watched by up to one billion people.(from Wiki)

Bye Prime

No other ingredient but a good copilot and driver a road trip of this type demands; Camilo put his skills at work, drove Florida like the wind and settled when the plains; the unknown started.

A flu in Roswell put him on the copilots for a while. He became the GPS analyst.

Two Colombians driving a new car with a bunch of two year old girl toys, used books and computer cables heading to San Pacho Cali, was never a good recipe. Since the beginning I felt compelled to use the 10 or even the 20, but the 8 gave us a call and we went to see the desert and his wall. The type of wall made to avoid people from passing from one side to the other.

The Virgencita viajera opened the door.... no problems with the control posts but we felt morbid by being scared even when the copilot was a gringo; we saw how we, the new immigrants, are not seen as it used to be since the beginning of the nation.

We end up at one of the biggest metropolitan areas of the world; the San Diego and Tijuana area. We ate at least 23 burritos. ty txmx.

Michael Joseph Jackson died and L.A. was coming.

TY Prime, amazing trip; Porsche should be the next sponsor.

L.A. El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Angeles del Río de Porciúncula.

The Village of Our Lady, the Queen of the Angels of the Porciuncula River

In L.A. the glamorous movie stars walk a round and enjoy their plastic styles and mansions while the regular people struggles to live by following plastic roll models
as if social disproportion was a mandate.

Second-largest city in the United States, after New York City. Located in Southern California and home to about 9 million people in about 4 counties. One of the most (if not the most) diverse cities in the United States. The largest city in California and a major financial center for the Pacific Rim. Competes with New York City as the cultural capital of the United States; most movies and television shows are made in coordinated efforts between Los Angeles and New York, although most movie studios have their headquarters' in Los Angeles.
LA has about a billion suburbs that are essentially considered part of Los Angeles as a single city, although the city itself has only a population of some 3.7 million. Los Angeles is notorious for smog and gang-related crime; seperate inner-city working-class suburbs such as Compton or Long Beach have been made the subject of rap songs talking about the crime levels that have gained some notoriety and earned LA one of it's less-enviable titles as "the Gang Capital of the World".

Fortunately, the beautiful Pacific coastline and the numerous beaches and tropical climate offset some of the not-so-good parts of the city. LA also has an awesome music scene, a great clubbing sector, and countless appreciative cultural institutions such as the Getty Museum to visit that provide the city with a depth, culture and history that are enviable. It's an awesome city. Watch out for the traffic though.

Los Angeles ranked as the most polluted city in the nation as per the American Lung Association annual air quality report card (Credit: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency)

San Diego to L.A.

San Diego
A city of southern California on San Diego Bay, an inlet of the Pacific Ocean near the Mexican border. Although explored by the Spanish in 1542, the area's first permanent settlements were not established until the 1700s. A noted zoological park is located in the city, which is a major port of entry and a military, commercial, industrial, and research center. Population: 1,260,000. The city is beautiful. As in Mayami they have a whale locked in a small tank just for the fun of the peoples.

The ride to L.A.
The ride is about 2 hours but can be upwards of 3 hours or more if there is heavy congestion on the freeways, which is true much of the time. By the way highways are called freeways on the East Coast.

The I-5 S. Freeway is beautiful, running right along the Pacific Ocean. Magnificent houses overlooking the ocean and beaches full of surfer dudes.

Temperature is amazing, a full year 75 F average is just great, the cool breeze from the Pacific flows trough the mountains.

From Tucson to San Diego

Bye Bye Tucson a city of southeast Arizona south-southeast of Phoenix. A Spanish mission was founded nearby in 1700, and the present city was first settled in 1775 as a walled presidio. It became part of the United States after the Gadsden Purchase (1853) and served as territorial capital from 1867 until 1877. Population: 519,000.
press icon to learn how to pronounce Tuxon, sorry Tuson; ok again Tucson.

Some pics from the drive.
Remembering the words from Mr. Reagan at the Brandenburg Gate,
"Mr. Gonzales tear down that wall"!!!!!!!!, sorry Gorbachev.... wrong quote...

From Molotov's Frijolero...

Podrás imaginarte desde afuera,
ser un Mexicano cruzando la frontera,
pensando en tu familia mientras que pasas,
dejando todo lo que tu conoces atrás.

Si tuvieras tu que esquivar las balas
de unos cuantos gringos rancheros
Las seguirás diciendo good for nothing wetback?
si tuvieras tu que empezar de cero.

Now why don't you look down
to where your feet is planted
That U.S. soil that makes you take shit for granted
If not for Santa Ana, just to let you know
That where your feet are planted would be Mexico
Correcto!
